Updated: 2026-11-08

The best ways to sell consulting and advisory firm data to AI companies are a vetted broker such as Sell My Data To AI, or a license with Mercor, Handshake AI, micro1 or Labelbox Prism. ddiy.co recorded Mercor's published listing at $150,000 to $300,000 for consulting firms. Your own methodologies, templates and proposal libraries are usually the licensable core.

## Key takeaways

- Mercor is best for firms of 10 to 500 staff on cloud tools.
- Handshake AI is best for professional services firms with documented methods.
- micro1 is best for established firms with 30 or more staff.
- Sell My Data To AI wrote this list and ranks itself first. The method section explains the criteria.
- Every entry's facts come from the company's own published terms, checked November 2026.

Consulting and advisory firms hold structured reasoning applied to business problems: methodologies and frameworks, proposal libraries with scoping and pricing rationale, analysis workbooks and lessons-learned reviews. See our [consulting firm data page](https://sellmydatatoai.net/sell-your-data/consulting-firms) for the full list.

ddiy.co recorded Mercor's published listing at $150,000 to $300,000 for consulting firms of 10 to 500 staff. Handshake AI names professional services among its industries, micro1 asks for SOPs and legal and compliance procedures, and Labelbox Prism lists research traces and financial modeling.

Engagement contracts often give clients the deliverables, so the firm's own know-how is usually what you can license. Transaction work may hold material nonpublic information, and SEC Rule 10b5-2 treats an agreement to keep information confidential as a duty of trust or confidence. UK deal work also falls under UK MAR. Our guide on [telling staff and clients about a data license](https://sellmydatatoai.net/guides/telling-staff-and-clients-about-a-data-sale) covers the conversation.

## How we ranked them

## How we ranked this list

Sell My Data To AI wrote this list and ranks itself first. We are a broker with a commercial interest in the result, and some companies below offer a service similar to ours. Read the order with that in mind.

For consulting firms we gave extra weight to buyers that name professional services, research traces or process documentation in their published brief, and to terms that let you exclude client deliverables.

| Criterion | What we checked |
| --- | --- |
| Fit for the data type | Whether the company names this kind of record in its own published brief |
| Published terms | Whether payouts, size requirements and license terms appear on the company's own pages |
| Vetting | What checks the company says it runs on sellers, buyers or datasets before a sample changes hands |
| Exclusivity | Whether licenses are exclusive, non-exclusive or perpetual, and whether that is published |
| Fees | Whether the seller pays a fee or commission, and whether the rate is published |
| Payment timing | When sellers are paid, as stated by the company |
| Transparency | How much of the above you can confirm before a first call |

Every fact about another company comes from our profile of it in the [data buyers directory](https://sellmydatatoai.net/data-buyers), checked on that company's own pages in November 2026. Where a term is missing we write "Not published" rather than guess. After first place, the order reflects fit for a company selling or licensing its data, not a quality score, and we do not rate any company negatively.

We rank Sell My Data To AI first because this is our list and our service is built for this reader, not because we scored ourselves against the others. We are independent of the buyers we work with, and our terms are on our [fees](https://sellmydatatoai.net/fees) and [how we vet](https://sellmydatatoai.net/how-we-vet) pages so you can compare them line by line.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can we license anonymized client reports to AI companies?

Only where the engagement contract leaves the rights with you. Many engagement contracts assign deliverable IP to the client, and client facts stay confidential under engagement letters and NDAs even when names are removed. Check each contract, de-identify thoroughly and take independent advice. Your own methodologies, templates and training materials are a safer starting point.

### Can consulting firms license transaction and deal files?

Deal files are best excluded. Transaction and capital markets work may contain material nonpublic information, and SEC Rule 10b5-2(b)(1) says a duty of trust or confidence exists whenever a person agrees to keep information confidential, which matters under insider trading law. Older deal files may no longer hold such information, but checking file by file usually costs more than excluding them. UK deal work also falls under UK MAR.

### Do we need our associates' permission to license their work?

You need a signed IP assignment. Under 17 U.S.C. section 201, copyright belongs to the author unless the work is a work made for hire, such as an employee's work within the scope of employment, and section 204(a) requires a transfer to be in a signed writing. Independent associates and subcontractors are not employees, so their frameworks and reports stay theirs unless their contract assigned the rights.
