Sell My Data To AI

Buy CRM and sales data for AI training

Last updated How we research

In short

CRM and sales data is the history of deals, accounts, activities and pipeline held in a customer relationship management system, licensed to train sales assistants and AI agents. micro1 lists CRM records among the operational data it licenses, with company payouts from $100,000. The value is in activity histories with outcomes, and contact personal data is the main legal risk.

Key takeaways

  • AI teams use crm and sales data for (1) sales assistant and email drafting models, (2) agents that update records and plan next steps and (3) forecasting and pipeline analysis models.
  • Usually priced per company archive, as a flat license fee.
  • Common delivery formats: CSV or Parquet exports of objects and fields, JSON activity timelines with linked emails and calls and schema documentation for custom fields.
  • Check before you license crm and sales data: (1) US: CCPA sale and opt-out rules for California residents, (2) US: privacy notice in force when contacts were collected and (3) contact personal data removed or pseudonymized.
  • Every seller we shortlist passes 8 vetting checks before you see a sample.

Why AI teams work with us

  1. 1

Every seller of crm and sales data we shortlist has passed eight vetting checks, from authority to sign through to a re-identification test.

  2. 2

Each shortlist comes with a vetting file per seller: rights evidence, provenance record, de-identification method, data manifest and proposed license terms.

  3. 3

Samples are drawn at random across the archive and labeled with the sampling method, so you can judge the whole package rather than its best rows.

  4. 4

You contract directly with the seller, and we help agree acceptance tests, staged payments and remedies before any data is delivered.

What is CRM and sales data?

CRM and sales data is the record a sales team keeps in its customer relationship management system: accounts, contacts, opportunities, stages, activities, notes, quotes and outcomes. Linked emails and call notes turn it from a table into a history of how each deal was won or lost.

micro1's data partnerships page names CRM records among the operational data it licenses, alongside SOPs, project histories, support tickets and internal communications, from companies with 30 or more full-time employees. See our micro1 profile for its published terms.

What do AI teams use CRM data for?

AI teams use CRM data to train sales assistants and agents that work inside CRM systems, and to test whether an agent's recommended next step matches what actually won deals.

  • Drafting follow-up emails and call notes in context
  • Updating records and planning next steps as an agent
  • Forecasting deal outcomes from stage and activity history
  • Evaluation sets built from closed deals with known results

How much is CRM data worth?

CRM data has no separate public price. micro1's published payouts, which cover CRM records alongside other operational data, are set in three tiers.

micro1's published payout tiers, checked November 2026
TierPublished payoutmicro1's description
Qualified enterprise data partnership$100,000 to $500,000Entry tier for companies that meet the criteria
Large-scale or ongoing$500,000 to $3 millionLarge-scale operational datasets or ongoing participation across teams
Highly unique$3 million and aboveProprietary operational data with significant value for frontier AI development

Those are payouts to data owners. Fortune reported in September 2026, citing SimpleClosure, that payments for data from closed startups typically run from $10,000 to $100,000 per company, which is a better guide for small archives.

Ask the seller how many years of records the archive covers and how many deals closed in that time, since the number of complete deal histories is what you are buying.

The legal risks in CRM data come from the personal data of contacts and the confidential terms of customers. Every contact record holds names, email addresses and phone numbers, and every opportunity can hold a customer's pricing.

  • US sale rules: under the CCPA, at California Civil Code section 1798.140(ad), making personal information available to a third party for valuable consideration is a sale, unless the data is deidentified to the standard in section 1798.140(m), and California residents can opt out of sale
  • US privacy notices: FTC staff warned in February 2024 that retroactive changes to privacy policies to allow AI training may be unfair or deceptive
  • Customer contracts: NDAs and confidentiality clauses can cover pricing and deal terms
  • UK and EU: UK GDPR and EU GDPR require a lawful basis, and pseudonymization leaves data personal

Our guide to UK GDPR, EU GDPR and CCPA when selling data for AI training explains each regime.

How should CRM data be delivered?

CRM data should be delivered as a fixed export of each object, such as accounts, contacts, opportunities and activities, in CSV or Parquet, with a schema document explaining every custom field and picklist value. Keep the relational keys so you can rebuild each deal's history.

Activity timelines are where the value sits, so ask whether linked emails and call notes are included and how they were redacted. Exports from Salesforce, HubSpot and similar systems differ, so agree the format and the data manifest before extraction starts.

What should you check before buying CRM data?

Before buying CRM data, confirm that contacts were pseudonymized consistently, so the same person keeps one ID across records, and that free-text notes were redacted as well as structured fields.

Check that won and lost outcomes are present and that the schema is documented, since custom fields are hard to interpret without it. Our due diligence checklist covers the contract. Book a free consultation to source vetted CRM archives.

Frequently asked questions

Do AI companies buy CRM data?
AI companies do buy CRM data as part of wider operational archives. micro1 names CRM records among the data it licenses from companies with 30 or more full-time employees, with published payouts starting at $100,000 to $500,000 for a qualified enterprise data partnership.
Is a contact list worth selling to AI companies?
A contact list on its own is rarely worth selling to AI companies, because names and email addresses teach a model nothing about how work is done, and they are personal data that carries legal risk. Activity histories with outcomes are what AI buyers want from CRM systems.
Does selling CRM data count as a sale under the CCPA?
Selling CRM data can count as a sale under the CCPA if it includes personal information made available to a third party for monetary or other valuable consideration, the definition in California Civil Code section 1798.140(ad). Data deidentified to the standard in section 1798.140(m) is not personal information. That standard requires reasonable measures, a public commitment not to re-identify and contractual obligations on recipients.
How should CRM contacts be de-identified?
CRM contacts should be de-identified by replacing names, email addresses and phone numbers with consistent IDs and removing identifiers from free-text notes. That is pseudonymization, which the CCPA does not treat as deidentified unless the conditions in section 1798.140(m) are also met. Under UK GDPR, pseudonymized data is still personal data. Full de-identification needs a re-identification test across linked fields.
