| Emails and calls with us | Your contact details and what we discuss | To provide the consultation and any brokerage work you ask for |
| Brokerage engagements | Names, roles and contact details of the people signing and working on a deal, and the documents needed for vetting | To run vetting checks, introduce buyers or sellers and keep records of the deal |

| Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies | Pseudonymous identifiers, pages visited, approximate location and device type | To understand how visitors use the site |
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, personal data about your customers, staff or anyone else in a form or email. We do not need it to assess your data.
Our lawful bases
- Steps at your request before entering into a contract, and performing a contract: replying to consultation requests and providing brokerage services.
- Legitimate interests: following up on a consultation, keeping business records, improving the website with cookie-free analytics, and protecting the site from abuse. We have weighed these against your interests and expect them to be ones you would reasonably expect.
- Consent: Google Analytics cookies, which stay off unless you accept them. You can withdraw consent at any time through Cookie settings in the footer.
- Legal obligation: records we must keep for tax, accounting and anti-money-laundering checks on larger deals.
What we do with data shared during a deal
We do not take custody of your raw data. Buyers see redacted samples under a mutual NDA, and full data moves only after you sign a license directly with the buyer.
If a seller shares a redacted sample with us so we can check its de-identification, we keep it in restricted storage for as long as the check takes and delete it within 30 days of the check ending. We never pass a sample to a buyer the seller has not approved.
Who we share personal data with
We share personal data only with the service providers below, who process it on our behalf under written contracts, and with a buyer or seller only when you have asked us to introduce you.
| Provider | What they do | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel Inc. | Website hosting, cookie-free analytics, and secure storage of form submissions | United States and global edge network |
| Resend | Delivers form submissions to our inbox | United States |
| ActiveCampaign | Our contact and follow-up records | United States |
| Cloudflare | DNS and forwarding of email sent to our domain | United States and global network |
| Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies | United States and elsewhere |
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising.
International transfers
Some providers process data in the United States. Where they do, we rely on the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework for certified providers, or on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards that apply.
How long we keep personal data
| Record | How long |
|---|---|
| Enquiries that do not lead to work | 24 months from our last contact, then deleted |
| Records of brokerage engagements and deals | 6 years after the engagement ends, for legal and tax purposes |
| Redacted samples shared for a de-identification check | Deleted within 30 days of the check ending |
| Google Analytics data, if you consented | 14 months |
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you
- have inaccurate data corrected
- have your data deleted where we no longer need it
- restrict or object to how we use it, including for direct marketing
- receive your data in a portable format where we rely on consent or contract
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting what we did before
Email hello@sellmydatatoai.net to use any of these rights. We reply within one month. There is no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or, in the EU, to your local data protection authority.
