Sell My Data To AI

Licensing agent

Created by Humans

Created by Humans is a licensing platform where authors, agents and publishers choose whether and how AI companies may use their books, then approve the agreements it negotiates. It offers training, reference and transformative rights, and tracks payments in a dashboard. Founded by Scribd co-founder Trip Adler, it takes a cut of each deal, but its site publishes no split, fees or payment timing.

How does Created by Humans work?

Created by Humans lets rights holders opt in or out of each AI licensing option and decide which partners may use their work. Its homepage lists training, reference and transformative rights, and says AI developers get one agreement, one invoice and curated datasets. Rights holders approve the agreements it negotiates and track payments in a dashboard.

Publishers Weekly reported in January 2025 that authors claim works by ISBN or upload, verify identity through Plaid and attest that no AI was used to write the text. Adler told the magazine that authors can license all, some or none of their books. The company worked closely with the Authors Guild, whose chief executive Mary Rasenberger sits on its advisory board.

What does Created by Humans charge?

Created by Humans takes a cut of each deal once rights are purchased, TechCrunch reported in June 2024, but neither its site nor that report gives a percentage. It raised a $5 million pre-seed round in June 2024 and a further $5 million in seed funding, according to Publishers Weekly.

Created by Humans suits authors and publishers who want to approve each use. Compare its terms with the reported HarperCollins price of $5,000 per title in our AI data deals tracker, and see our page for publishers and education companies.
