How does Innodata source AI training data?

Innodata creates and collects training data itself rather than buying it through a public program. Its homepage lists natural collection, synthetic generation, studio capture and on-the-ground collection, pre-built training datasets for large language models and physical AI data for robotics. It cites more than 11,500 in-house subject matter experts, more than 20 delivery locations and over 120 native languages and dialects.

How big is Innodata's pre-training data business?

Innodata's pre-training data business had about $42 million of signed contracts in potential revenue, with about $26 million more expected, according to chief executive Jack Abuhoff in the company's results release of November 6, 2025. He said the company had invested in new pre-training data capabilities that year. The release reported third-quarter 2025 revenue of $62.6 million.

Neither the release nor the earnings call says where Innodata's pre-training data comes from or whether it licenses content from outside owners.
