What does Mercor buy?

Mercor buys the workflow data a business already generates in its everyday tools. Its data monetization page says you choose which of more than 100 supported tools to share, with Slack, Microsoft Teams, Gmail, Salesforce, GitHub and Notion named. Mercor targets legal, healthcare, finance and insurance, professional services, manufacturing, retail and ecommerce, real estate, and logistics and supply chain companies.

How much does Mercor pay?

Mercor's payout depends on data volume, the tools you connect and the depth of your data, according to its data page, which says the more tools you share, the higher the payout. The page itself shows no figures and offers a payout estimate form instead.

Mercor's referral page at data.mercor.com blocks automated access, so we could not check it directly. ddiy.co reported in October 2026 that the page listed company payouts by industry, including $50,000 to $1.2 million for law firms (5 to 300 staff), $115,000 to $1 million for construction companies and $20,000 to $250,000 for call centers. Treat these as reported figures and confirm them with Mercor.

Mercor also bid for the data of bankrupt Spirit Airlines in 2026. Fortune reported a Mercor bid of $7.5 million in an auction won by Google at $10 million. See the AI data deals tracker for the wider record.

How does Mercor protect the data?

Mercor says an automated process masks more than 60 categories of sensitive identifiers, that no AI lab buyer or third-party vendor sees raw data and that its engineers do not review it manually. It states that data stays in company systems until approved, all access is logged, and it lists encryption in transit, isolated per-session credentials, SOC 2 Type II and AWS KMS key management.

Mercor's process links your accounts to its extraction tooling. Frankfurt Kurnit Klein and Selz advises sellers to avoid giving buyer tools direct access to company systems. We suggest exporting a fixed copy of the approved records instead, a point our guide on whether selling company data to AI is safe covers.

Who is Mercor a good fit for?

Mercor suits companies in its target industries that use mainstream cloud tools and want a buyer to handle extraction at no cost. If your sector appears on our industry pages, such as law firms or construction companies, compare Mercor's offer with others before you commit.
