What does Hugging Face offer data owners?
Hugging Face offers dataset hosting on its Hub, which listed 1,116,471 datasets when we checked in November 2026. Authors can turn on access requests, which share each requester's username and email, choose automatic or manual approval, add custom fields such as company and country, and block access at any time. Gated datasets can also be closed to users in EU countries.
Does Hugging Face pay for datasets?
Hugging Face does not pay dataset authors or sell datasets for them, based on its gated datasets and storage documentation, which mention no payments. Its pricing covers storage, with Team and Enterprise organizations getting 1TB of private storage per seat.
