A success fee is a fee that a broker or adviser earns only when a transaction completes. If no deal closes, nothing is owed. In data brokerage the fee is usually a percentage of what the buyer pays.
How do data brokers set success fees?
Data brokers set success fees in different ways, and many do not publish a rate. FileYield states 8% from the seller and 6% from the buyer in its FAQ. SimpleClosure AssetHub charges a percentage on success. Opendatabay, a marketplace, uses a tiered commission of 5 to 30% by sale price, as reported by GISuser in February 2026.
How does Sell My Data To AI charge?
Sell My Data To AI charges sellers nothing to be assessed. We charge a success fee only when a deal completes, and the fee is agreed in writing before we introduce you to any buyer. Buyers pay nothing to submit a requirement or review a shortlist.
